Annual General Meeting

The 15th annual general meeting of the Society of Food Science and Technology was held on 29th January 2021 at 7.00 pm via Zoom.  The staff members of the Department of Food Science and Technology and  society members from all batches participated for the virtual meeting.  In this meeting the annual budget report was presented and passed. New office bearers were appointed for the upcoming year 2021. The society was addressed by Emeritus Prof. Upali Samarajeewa. He brought up the constitution of the society and proposed amendments to the constitution. Also he shared the experiences he had working in the society of Food Science and Technology. He proposed new suggestions for the improvement of the society. The society was addressed by Prof. S.Wimalasiri and proposed new suggestions for the betterment of the society. Also the senior treasurer Dr. E.R.J.Samarakoon addressed the gathering. She thanked all the outgoing office bearers and wished good luck for newly appointed members. Then both of the academic members and SFST members discussed about the future plans and suggestions for the development of the society. Many ideas were discussed on the event. Then the president reminded the tasks to be done in upcoming year. The annual general meeting of the Society of Food Science and Technology was adjourned at 8.30 pm.
